On June 16, 2019 at 3:20am, Fort St John RCMP received a report of a robbery that occurred on the north side of 100th Ave / 102nd St. Around 3am, a mountain bike rider, on their way to work, was accosted by 4 male suspects. The suspects ranged in height from 5’4″ (162cm) to 5’10 (178cm) and were all wearing black hoodies with white and blue bandanas covering the bottom of their faces. One of the men punched the cyclist in the face, causing the rider to fall off their bike. The suspects then took the red mountain bike and left eastbound on 100th Ave.
The Fort St John RCMP Police Dog Services unit attended the scene, but were not able to locate the suspects.
“If you or someone you know has seen anyone matching this description or knows someone who mysteriously has a red mountain bike, we would like to hear from you,” said Cst Chad Neustaeter. “If there are people willing to physically assault someone else for their bicycle, then the police need to meet these people.”
The Fort St John RCMP believe this to be an isolated incident but continue to investigate and are asking anyone who has information about this incident or can assist in identifying any of these suspects, please contact the Fort St John RCMP at 250-787-8100. Should you wish to remain anonymous, please call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or submit a tip online at www.crimestoppersnebc.ca.
