The Fort St John RCMP are asking the public for assistance with two arson to vehicle investigations that occurred on April 28, 2019 between 9:30-10:00pm. Investigators believe the two arsons may be related.
The first arson occurred on the 10100 block of 114A Ave, Fort St John, BC. A man was seen pouring an accelerant on a 2014 white Ford pickup truck and setting it on fire. The fire completely destroyed the truck as well as causing damage to a 2016 Nissan Frontier that was parked nearby. The man was seen getting into the passenger side of a newer black Chevrolet Silverado which left southbound on 100th St.
The second instance occurred shortly thereafter on the 8500 block of 86th St, Fort St John, BC. Frontline RCMP attended to find a burning 2003 grey Pontiac Grand Am. Evidence of an accelerant was located on scene.
“Arsons crimes are of particular interest to police as they have the potential to cause a lot of damage and be very dangerous,” said Cst Chad Neustaeter.
The Fort St John RCMP continue to investigate and are asking anyone who has information about these incidents or can assist in identifying a possible suspect(s), please contact the Fort St John RCMP at 250-787-8100.
